Dermal Filler Basics

Collagen, which keeps our skin firm, fades as we get older, and our skin loses moisture. The process of this can age the face as the loss of volume and moisture will enhance wrinkles and take away plumpness. By restoring volume and fullness to areas of the face that have been damaged by facial volume loss over time, dermal fillers can help you look younger. Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body, is used to make dermal fillers. Fillers containing hyaluronic acid can be used to give volume to the face, reduce wrinkles, and lift and shape cheeks, jawlines, and lips. At Stiller Aesthetics, we aim to enhance your already beautiful features and give you natural results that you will love.

Although dermal fillers are a great option to restore volume, they are not a permanent treatment choice. If you are looking for a longer lasting treatment, fat grafting may be the right choice for you. During your consultation, you can discuss the benefits of filler vs fat grafting and find out what is right for you.

Treatment Process

During your consultation, we will discuss what is most bothersome and how we can achieve your desired look. At Stiller Aesthetics, Juvéderm and Restylane products are used. Once a plan has been decided, the area is cleansed and most commonly an anesthetic is applied for comfort. The injections are then delivered leaving you with restored volume and a fresh face.

Dermal Filler After Care

Following your dermal filler treatment, there is little downtime and majority of patients return to their regular activities right away. Swelling, bruising, and redness may occur around the treated regions, but these side effects should be minor and will go away within a day or two. The initial results of your dermal filler therapy will be noticeable right after your procedure. It will take 2 weeks to see the final result of your filler. The length of time that your results will last depends on the type of dermal filler that was utilized, typically 9-12 months. More dermal filler treatments may be needed as your filler begins to dissolve.
