BodyTite Basics

BodyTite is a procedure that uses radio-frequency energy to contour areas of the body that have laxity of skin. With minimal scarring, BodyTite melts fat, tightens the skin, and promotes higher levels of natural collagen production. The heating control gives Dr. Stiller added consistency to ensure areas aren’t over or undertreated. BodyTite can be performed with liposuction or by itself, depending on your goals. Commonly treated areas are the neck, abdomen, arms, thighs, and flanks.

BodyTite Benefits

Is BodyTite Right for Me?

BodyTite is a great choice for patients who have a small to moderate amount of fat and skin laxity. If you are looking for a procedure that does not require a long incision or down-time, then BodyTite may be right for you. For patients that have undergone a significant amount of weight loss or have a larger quantity of sagging skin, a circumferential body lift or tummy tuck (link) may be a better option to obtain the desired result. BodyTite can be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as liposuction (link) or performed on its own. During your consultation, Dr. Stiller will explain in great detail the best surgical option to best support your goals and give you the results you desire.

The Procedure

Dr. Stiller starts the BodyTite procedure by making small incisions, around 1/4 inch in length, in the areas being treated. Dr. Stiller attempts to place the incisions in areas that are not noticeable, such as natural body creases, the pubic area, or under the chin. If liposuction is to be done, this will be performed first by the use of a cannula to remove any excess subcutaneous fat.

BodyTite is conducted through a hand-piece that allows for a dual approach: The thermal energy penetrates the skin through an external electrode and an internal probe to melt fat tissue and tighten skin. Dr. Stiller will guide the hand-piece across treatment areas to precisely melt adipose tissue and tighten fibrous septae connecting underlying fascia to the dermis while also simultaneously tightening skin. The heating control gives Dr. Stiller added consistency to ensure areas aren’t over- or under-treated. Multiple areas of concern can be treated at once.

For your Cosmetic Surgery, cash pay procedures, your surgery will be performed at our own on-site AAAASF accredited surgery center at our Stiller Aesthetics office. Our operating room is fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment.

BodyTite Recovery

BodyTite is an outpatient procedure, so after a short period of recovery time, you will go home the same day. Recovery after BodyTite can vary between patients however, most patients recover very well. When you wake up from surgery, you will be in a compression garment, depending on the areas treated, which we advise to wear the first 2 weeks all the time followed by 2 more weeks during times of activity. The recovery for BodyTite can vary depending on how many areas were treated. You can expect bruising, swelling and a feeling of tightness for about 2-3 weeks. Smaller treatment areas may only need one week of down time while others may need longer.

You will be provided with detailed post-operative instructions upon completion of your procedure. If at any time you should have any questions or concerns after surgery, please contact our practice immediately.

BodyTite Results

The results of BodyTite most commonly are noticed within the first few weeks as swelling subsides. However, skin tightening and body contouring improve gradually due to collagen production and cellular metabolism. Results may become more noticeable with time and can take up to 6 months, and continuing up to 12 months, to see the final result.
