BodyTite Basics

BodyTite, also known as radiofrequency assisted lipolysis, is a minimally-invasive procedure using radio-frequency energy to contour the body. With minimal scarring, BodyTite melts fat, tightens the skin and promotes higher levels of natural collagen production. The heating control gives Dr. Stiller added consistency to ensure areas aren’t over or undertreated. BodyTite can be performed with liposuction or by itself. Commonly treated areas are the arms, abdomen, love handles (flanks), hips, thighs and back.

BodyTite Benefits

  • Uniform results without the need for excision of tissue
  • Slimming and skin tightening
  • Minimal recovery and scarring

Is BodyTite Right for Me?

BodyTite is a great choice for patients who have small to moderate amount of fat and skin laxity. If you are looking for a procedure that does not require a long incision or down time, then BodyTite may be right for you. For patients that have gone through a significant amount of weight loss or have a larger quantity of sagging skin, post-weight loss body contouring may be a better option to obtain the desired result. BodyTite can be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as Liposuction or performed on its own. During your consultation, Dr. Stiller will explain in great detail the best surgical option to help you be the you, you want to be.

The Procedure

BodyTite can be performed under local anesthesia, mild sedation or general anesthesia depending upon the complexity and the extent of the body areas being treated. Small incisions, usually around 1/8 inch, are made in the areas being treated. Dr. Stiller attempts to place the incisions in areas that are not noticeable such as natural body creases, pubic area, or under the chin.

BodyTite is conducted through a hand-piece that allows for a dual approach. The thermal energy penetrates through an external electrode and an internal probe to melt fat tissue and tighten skin. Dr. Stiller will guide the hand-piece across treatment areas to precisely melt adipose tissue and tighten fibrous septae connecting underlying fascia to the dermis while also simultaneously tightening skin. The heating control gives Dr. Stiller added consistency to ensure areas aren’t over or under-treated.

BodyTite Recovery

BodyTite is an outpatient procedure, so after a short period of recovery time, you will go home the same day. You will need a person 18 years old or greater with you the day of surgery.

You will awake in a compression garment which will be encouraged to wear for 1 month. Incisions will be dressed and left open for natural healing. The recovery for BodyTite can vary depending on how many areas were treated. Smaller treatment areas may only need one week of down time while others may need longer. It is normal to experience some swelling and bruising after surgery up to about one month.

BodyTite Results

The results of BodyTite most commonly are noticed within the first few weeks as swelling subsides. However, skin tightening and body contouring improve gradually due to collagen production and cellular metabolism. Results may become more noticeable with time and can take up to 6 months, and continuing up to 12 months, to see final result.
